What is it?

Kent’s Run is a 5K family run/walk, organized to honor the memory of Kent Ribordy and to raise money for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

How much money has been raised and who do the proceeds benefit?

In just four years, Kent's Run has raised over $106,000!  All proceedes benefit The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

If I am unable participate in the race, can I still make a donation?

We are sorry you can't join us, but all donations are greatly appreciated. Please make your check payable to Kent's Run and mail to:

Who can participate?

Individuals, families, or groups of all ages are welcome to participate.

Where does the race take place?

The start and finish lines are at Boone Grove Middle School. The school is located in Boone Grove Indiana, southwest of Valparaiso. The course is a loop on the nearby county roads.  

How much does it cost to participate?

$25 registration fee if postmarked by Saturday May 19, 2012.

$25 online registration until Wednesday May 23, 2012.

$30 registration fee at packet pick-up on race day Saturday May 26, 2012.

How do I register?

You can complete registration online by clicking here. Please complete a separate registration for each participant.  If you prefer a paper registration form, you can download a paper registration form by clicking here.

Is there a registration deadline?

Yes, paper applications must be postmarked by Saturday May 19, 2012.  The deadline for online registration is Wednesday, May 23, 2012. You may also register at packet pick-up on race day, Saturday May 26, 2012 from 7:00am-7:45am CST.  However, the registration fee increases to $30 on race day.

Are there any hotels in the area?

Yes, there are several in the Valparaiso area, but try the Hampton Inn & Suites located at 1451 Silhary Road, Valparaiso, IN 46385 (219) 531-6424. Get a special $95.00 Kent's Run room rate by entering the code KRE when reserving online or by mentioning Kent's Run when reserving a room over the phone.

Where are the water stations?

There will be a water station near the half-way point of the race and at the finish line. 

What are the award divisions?

Top Male
Top Female
Top three finishers in each age division (male and female divisions)
Medals to all participants.

Where can I get results?

Results will be posted on the website, KentsRun.com and announced at the end of the race. 

Where do the proceeds go?

Proceeds will benefit The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

What time does Kent’s Run Start?

The run and walk both will start at 8:00 am CST. 

Where do I pick up my packet?

Race packets will be available at the Boone Grove Middle School Gymnasium on race day Saturday May 26, 2012 from 7:00am-7:45am CST 

May walkers participate?

Yes, walkers are welcome to participate. 

May I pick up a friend or family members packet?

Yes, you may pick up a friend or family members packet. 

Where can I park?

Boone Grove Middle School Parking lots are located on the north and east side of the building. 

Where does the race start?

On the Eastside of the Middle school in the parking lot 

Where does the race finish?

On the Eastside of the Middle school in the parking lot.

How long is 5K in miles?

Five kilometers (5K) is 3.1 miles. 

What happens if I can’t finish?

There are course marshals that will transport you to the finish line should you need assistance.
